Rolling
I rolled across the intersection and down the block. I thought this would be a simple action but a lot went "wrong." The whole thing became about perseverance, explaining performance art, and defending myself. I almost got arrested for this action. Luckily the police thought it was funny and didn't take me to Bellevue.
About the artist
I am a performance artist living in NYC. I hope that my work makes people see Black women, and the world in general, differently. I question everything considered standard or "normal." To some that makes me a provocateur. My day job is working as an after school art teacher.
